Lance TR-FRET Assays
Lanthanide Chelate Excite (LANCE) TR-FRET uses the lanthanide metallic element europium as the donor fluorophore, which allows time-delayed signal detection for minimal background interference. Users then have a choice in the size of the acceptor dye for the acceptor fluorophore. Small size dye induces little steric hindrance on the labelled acceptor making it ideal for enzyme assays whereas bigger sized dye is used for large-span interaction detection such as protein-protein interaction. This proximity assay technology is being used in Biortus for various purposes. Here we show an example of a kinase competitive inhibition assay based on LANCE TR-FRET performed in Biortus.
