CDK Family
Continuous proliferation is an important hallmark of tumor cells, blocking the tumor cell cycle has become an important means to control tumor development. The complex of cyclin and cyclin dependent kinases (CDKs) can control the cell division, and the development of inhibitors around this family has become an important branch of drug development in the field of cancer in recent years.
CDKs, belonging to the serine/threonine protein kinase family. CDKs binds to the corresponding regulatory subunit-cyclin to form an active heterodimer, which is mainly involved in cell cycle regulation and transcriptional regulation (Figure 1). CDK1, CDK4, CDK6, etc., involved in the cell cycle include, and CDK7, CDK8, CDK9, etc., involved in transcriptional regulation.
